These ginko leaves are made from glass clay! I pressed real ginko leaves into the clay to capture their detailed veining, then kiln fired them to burn out the clay medium, leaving pure glass behind. I then painted them and fired again, this time slumping them into organic shapes. The leaves are adhered to a black glass panel, and mounted on a white MDF panel. A glass case with copper foil edging protects the fragile leaves.
