I have a lot of fun making these birds! A fun departure from my usual work. Each bird is completely unique: cut freehand, hand painted, and kiln fired. The branches are driftwood collected on Door County, Wisconsin beaches. Painted with vitreous glass paint, the paint is fired into the glass so it will never fade or scratch. Safe for indoors or out.
This bird measures approximately 6" head to tail.
All of my glass art is cut freehand without patterns; every piece is unique. I use the same methods and materials that have been used by glass artists for centuries: the paint is powdered glass which, when kiln-fired becomes one with the glass beneath it. These pieces will last your lifetime. And more.
